IHS Basketball Wins State

Here at IHS we don’t really have very many extra curricular
activities but the few we do have we really like to make a big
deal about them. This basketball team even though we don’t
really have that money to have a huge gym, new supplies and
clothes for the team, they made the best of the situation and
went to state. All the games they played for state they won
and ended taking state.

The teams MVP Alex Fuentes said, “I had a great time playing
for Independence High School. I learned a lot of new things on
and off the basketball court.”

The reason Alex became the MVP is the forty seven points he
scored leading his team to victory. Alex’s friends and family
are very proud of his basketball achievements.

Lately he has been working out with the UVU basketball
team and is hoping to play for the Wolverines.
