Teacher of the Year
Jose M. Catrino-Vieira has been chosen as TEACHER OF THE YEAR for 2008-2009.
Jose is one of a kind. We cannot say enough positive about what he does for
students and our entire staff. The lessons he teaches are always "hands on"
and practical so they cannot be forgotten. He is a superb mentor working tirelessly
during the day to mold students into upstanding citizens and then regularly with
color guard and drill team after school. He gives up Saturdays and evenings to take
students to present the colors for a variety of organizations and to supervise drill
team events with other schools. He has consistently maintained one of the highest
performing leadership classes in the school because he personally cares so much
about students and will work with their other teachers to make sure their schoolwork
is complete. He has high expectations for himself and in doing so, communicates
high expectations for students. We want to thank Jose for being such a great
teacher and we honor him as teacher of the year!
